Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a verification system, which is used to stop the so-called e-mail spoofing where an email message is sent from one email address, but to seem as being sent from a different one, usually with the idea to scam the recipient in some way. If SPF protection is enabled for a domain, a special record is made for it in the Domain Name System and all the DNS servers worldwide have it. The record contains all the email servers that are permitted to send valid messages from an address within the domain. When an e-mail is sent, the first DNS server it encounters verifies the SPF record and if the sending server is permitted, the message is forwarded to the targeted receiver. When, however, the sending server is not contained in the SPF record for the particular domain, the message won't be submitted and it'll be discarded. When you employ this service, it will prevent third parties from sending spam messages that seem to have been sent from you.

SPF Protection in Shared Website Hosting

If you host your domain names in a shared website hosting account on our end and we handle the email addresses for them, you will be able to activate SPF protection for any of them with several clicks inside your Hepsia Control Panel. This service can be found in a separate section where you are able to see which domains are currently secured. For those that aren't, you will be able to activate the SPF protection option and manage various things in the process - the hostnames of the mail servers that are permitted to send messages from your emails, the IPv4 and IPv6 addresses of these servers, and even to create a rule that emails can be sent only if your domains have our MX records. The last choice is the most secure one, but you can use it in the event that we take care of the emails for your domain names and do not use a different e-mail supplier. The newly generated records will propagate within one day and nobody will be able to forge the FROM field in an e-mail using your e-mail addresses.
